i love my trainer

So i just got this fancy schmancy new bike trainer. I got it from a friend who uses a compu-trainer so she gave me a great deal on it! I have never had a trainer...and since it's flipping miserable outside I figure it was a good investment. My roomies hate that it is in the living room but hell who really cares what they think? The first night I had it I rode at one in the morning just for the hell of it. ballin'

On another note I have two finals tomorrow and another Thursday. Dear god I can't wait until all this stuff is over...

third times a charm

Ran today for the 3rd day in a row. You want to know the last time I ran 3 days in a row? April. That's a milestone in my book. granted its a mile or two on the treadmill, but a milestone nonetheless. We'll see if my legs hate me later today or not.

On a more depressing note, exams start monday =( eff my life!! I am only taking 3 of them, and one is open note...so its really only two. And one I only have to pass to get an A, so it's really only one. But hell, I can still complain right? I have to go to class today and find out just how bad I did on my last logistics test. If I got a 50...I probably did better then the rest of my class. Lord please let this semester end soon...

It's about time...

So I ran this morning for the first time completely pain free in quite some time. Granted it was hella slow and only a mile, but a milestone nonetheless (pun completely intended). I've been screwing around with shoes and running form and I think I may have finally gotten it down.

On another run related note, I have started thoroughly planning my Rim to Rim grand canyon run for next september. I have searched a lot of reports, blogs, and even park ranger reports to get as much info as I can. it looks like it will be about 24 miles top to bottom to top. Obviously I'll find an extra 2.2 miles in there somewhere to make it 26.2. The speed record is 3:07...which is roughly 7:45s. Doesn't sound too bad at first until you realize that the run has over 10,000 feet of elevation change. No speed record for me I'm afraid. I figure 10 min miles is probably a good bet. Faster on the way down and across...and crawling up to the top of the south rim.

The run caps with a 7.5 mile ascent out of the canyon with an average gradient of just under 10%. holy free jesus. Guess I'll be running some hills in preparation huh? But when I get to the top I'll get to see this...

Blogging is Hard

So this may be the hardest website I have ever had to set up. Ever heard of overkill? Anyway, it appears that having a blog is for the cool people...and since i consider myself one of the cool people, I needed a blog. So here it is! Since I am new at this and don't know what to say I'll just post a picture of the new shoes I have been oogling at. Enjoy.

Pretty huh? I have never tried Newtons before...but for these bad boys I would give it a shot.
